Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

B & M Capital Limited (Nuvo Dental Plymouth)

Financial Year: 2025/2026

Date: 1st April 2025

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by B & M Capital Limited to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.

1. Organisation and supply chains B & M Capital Limited is the legal entity for Nuvo Dental Plymouth, a provider of NHS and private dental care in the South West of England. The company is led by directors Mandhir Bains and Jaspreet Bains. Our workforce is UK-based. We source a range of goods and services including dental equipment, consumables, laboratory services, IT systems and facilities support. While many suppliers are based in the UK, we recognise that some supply chains extend internationally.

2. Policies We have adopted policies designed to promote ethical conduct and prevent exploitation:

  • An anti-slavery policy confirming zero tolerance for forced labour or human trafficking.
  • A supplier code of conduct that requires compliance with ethical labour standards.
  • A whistleblowing procedure allowing staff to raise concerns in confidence.
  • A recruitment and employment policy ensuring all employees are engaged fairly with full right-to-work checks.

3. Due diligence Our due diligence processes include:

  • Pre-qualification checks on suppliers, with requests for modern slavery statements where relevant.
  • Contractual terms that require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act.
  • Monitoring of higher-risk categories such as overseas manufactured equipment.
  • Verification of identity, qualifications and references for all new employees.

4. Areas of risk We have identified potential risks within:

  • Supply chains for dental equipment and consumables that originate overseas.
  • Outsourced services such as cleaning and facilities management.

We mitigate these risks by preferring suppliers with UK or EU operations and seeking evidence of ethical compliance from those in higher-risk regions.

5. Effectiveness We measure our approach through:

  • The proportion of key suppliers that provide modern slavery assurances.
  • Staff training completion rates.
  • Monitoring of incidents and concerns raised.

To date, no cases of modern slavery or human trafficking have been identified in our business or supply chains.

6. Training and awareness All staff receive training on safeguarding, equality and ethical conduct. Managers and those working with suppliers receive additional training on identifying risks of exploitation and acting appropriately if concerns arise.

7. Continuous improvement We are committed to strengthening our processes by:

  • Maintaining a register of supplier compliance statements.
  • Carrying out periodic reviews of supply chains.
  • Offering refresher training annually to all staff.
  • Engaging with professional networks to share good practice.

8. Approval This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of B & M Capital Limited and will be reviewed annually.

Signed:
Mandhir Bains, Director
