Our team at Nuvo Dental Care provide the highest level of care to our youngest patients. Starting children off with regular dental care can help create a lifetime of great dental health as well as a super happy smile.

When should I first bring my child into the dentist?

It is best to start bringing children in to see the dentist from as early as 6 months old. This is to help keep an eye on developing teeth and their overall oral health. It is also helpful to get them used to visiting the practice.

How often should children visit the dentist?

As they get older, this will depend on how their teeth develop and progress and whether any issues arise. To begin with, we recommend one or two yearly trips to the dentist, so we can be sure their dental health is in good shape and their teeth are growing and progressing as they should.

What treatments do you provide for children?

The most important dental treatment we offer all children is of course, their regular check-up. These are important for establishing good health, a good routine, and to help stop any phobias or anxieties about the dentist or dental health from occurring.

At these check-ups, we may also recommend other treatments to help prevent or treat dental issues. These could be fluoride application, dental fissure sealers, or fillings. As they get older, we may also recommend orthodontic treatment to correct an overbite, underbite, crossbite, or overcrowding or gaps in the teeth.

What can I do to help?

The most important thing a parent or carer of a child can do is to help establish a regular dental routine that works at home.

Our team here can always help develop a routine that is tailored to you and your needs should your child have any specific dental health needs or concerns.

The reception staff are always friendly and efficient as are the dental team. My last visit was a check up. I didn't need treatment but the dentist gave me a clean up removing any build up the electric tooth brush and tooth pick failed to remove. All done in 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this dental surgery, I have been a patient on their books for over 10 years.

Nuvo Dental + Implant Centre is my regular place to visit for all of my dental needs.
